I believe you will find the level of experience that I have makes me the best choice for Lake County, Ill coroner. My main priority will be to create an office that best serves the people of the county during what is a trying and difficult time. My dedication to the office and the citizens of the county will be unwavering. I promise to make the coroners office a first class operation first by getting it certified by the National Association of Medical Examiners (N.A.M.E.). Then I will assist all the deputy coroners in obtaining and maintaining individual certification by the American Board of Medical Legal Death investigators (A.M.D.I.). This national certification process will guarantee that our deputy coroners have proven knowledge and skills necessary to perform medical legal death investigations as set forth in the National Institutes of Justice 1999 publication "Death Investigation: A Guide for the Scene Investigator". This certifying process will encourage adherence to the high standards of professional practice and ethical conduct when performing these important investigations.

I promise to be a truly independent coroner charged with the responsibilities and duties of answering the pertinent questions related to any death investigation: Who, What, When, Where, How and Why. Only when these questions have been answered correctly can all the proper legal issues that arise at the death be handled expertly and completely for the administration of justice. With neither prior law enforcement associations, nor current medical staff hospital appointments, which might prove entangling, my independent decisions will be without bias and transparent no matter what the cause of death results from.

By having properly coordinated death scene investigative procedures, the community, the legal system and family members will be well served.
